Influenster Jolly Voxbox 2013 Review

Hey beauty bloggers! Wow, I haven’t blogged in FOREVER. I am so sorry – I just haven’t found the time and I was running out of ideas to blog about. But, here I am with an exciting blog post! Today I received a the Jolly Voxbox from Influenster. I am so excited I qualified and I hope I qualify for more upcoming boxes!:)

If you don’t know what Influenster is, check out their website for all the information here.

Now, let’s get started with the review!

The first item I received in my box was the NYC New York Color HD Color Eyeshadow Trio in the color Long Beach Sands. It says the eyeshadow delivers high intensity color with a silky soft texture and the lightweight formula blends effortlessly for the ultimate smokey eye look. Is it just me or does it kind of remind me of the Wet N Wild eyeshadow trio in Walking On Eggshells? Huh.

Well, the eyeshadows are definately very silky and smooth! While swatching them, they seemed to blend easily too. These eyshadows are not very pigmented, though. I would recommend using a good primer too so the eyeshadow doesn’t fade during the day. I’m glad Influenster gave us some neutral colors because if they gave me a trio with green or purple I wouldn’t be using them as often! The first color in the trio which is a highlighter shade is a very pretty champenge color. I see myself using this shadow often in the future. It’s perfect if you want a little shimmer in your inner corners! The second color is the darkest shade in the trio and the most pigmented. I like this shadow and I’m excited to experiment with it. Once again, I wish it more pigmented and a little less sheer. I see myself using it as a natural crease color to give a little bit more definiton to my eyes. Or, if I’m going for a smokey look, I’ll definately use this! The last shadow is probably my least favorite and the least pigmented. I don’t really know what I would use it for – an eyeshadow base or a crease color? It seems too light to be a crease color and I wouldn’t use it for my lid either. But, I’m excited to try out a makeup look with this trio and maybeI’ll use it for Christmas Eve tomorrow. It’s great if you want a nice natural look and you can even darken up some of the colors by building it up and using a good primer.

Next I got the new Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer. The description says it is an intense rich colour of a lipstick combined with an invincibly smooth lacquer shine. I received the shade Stargazer. At first, it appeared very metallic on my lips but after I blended it out it was a pretty shimmery champange color! I feel like this would go well with the NYC trio too! This is the perfect gloss if you have a smokey eye and want to finish your look with a natural shimmery gloss. I’m really pleased with this product and I’m going to use it quite often!

Next I received the Skinny Cow Candy in the flavor peanut butter creme. You get six packets of yummy chocolate, and each packet includes three little chocolates. These are perfect if you’re craving something sweet or you want a little snack. I also really like these because they are only 130 calories! Wow!

Now about the taste… I really liked them! I shared some with my family to get their opinions, too. My 9-year-old brother said it was “okay”, rating it a 5 out of 10 stars. Maybe he doesn’t like peanut butter? The rest of my family agreed it was an 8 out of 10 stars. I liked the peanut butter flavor, but I’m wondering if they have carmel ones too! But, if you don’t like chocolate or you’re allergic peanut butter, these probably aren’t your favorite in the box.

I would recommend these because they are super yummy!

The next item in my box was the Puffs Ultra Strong & Soft To Go Tissue Pack. These are definately softer than normal tissues and are perfect for on the go! One thing I don’t like about these is the pack only comes with 10 tissues. I feel like I would use up those 10 tissues very quickly and I wish there was more in a pack. But, these are perfect right now because it seems like everyone is getting sick or catching a cold.

The next item surprised me a little! The first thought I had was: Since when is ducktape a beauty product?

Well, I know someday it will come in handy and I’ll be thankful I have it! The design is cute – blue and purple cheetah/leopard print. I will definately use it when I’m hanging up a poster of a celebrity or something haha. It’s a mini roll of duct tape and the descriptive claims it tears easily by hand without curling and it conforms to uneven surfaces.

In the end, I am really pleased with the Jolly Voxbox! There are some really good products that I’m excited to try out. If you want to sign up for Influenster, leave a comment below with your email because I still have a few invites left!:)

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!

Mini Haul! (Fashion & Dance wear)

Today I did a little shopping and got a couple of things that I’m really excited about! I won’t be naming the shops because they are local, but I’m sure you can find similar things near you!:) Let’s get started!

I first went inside a local boutique and saw that they carried some NYX shadows for only $4! Of course, I had to get one! I picked up a beautiful, light shimmery shade that is perfect for highlighting your browbone or inner corner. This eyeshdow is called Vanilla Sky and I recommend trying this out!

At the same boutique, they carried so many cute clothes and… I wanted them. ALL of them. I wanted the hi-low skirts, the sweaters with crosses on them, the tribal leggings, the crop tops, EVERYTHING. And it was all at an affordable price! But, I wasn’t ready to go on a shopping spree, so I picked up this flowly, floral top for only $8. It has adjustable straps and it’s super cute! I’m really excited to wear this because the weather in California right now is unbelievably hot.

Lastly, I needed a new leotard and some tights so I went to a local dance-wear shop. I got regular Bloch pink ballet tights, but the real star of the show is… this beautiful leotard with lace at the top! Oh em gee. When I first walked in, I knew that this leo was going to be the one. It is absolutely gorgeous! Of course, it looks way better in person and on myself, so next time I go to ballet maybe I’ll snap a picture and upload it!;)

Alright, so I tried taking a picture with an iPhone while I’m wearing it, but it didn’t turn out so great, but basically this is what it looks like when I’m wearing it! The lace goes down a little past my elbows, so it’s almost a long-sleeved leotard, but at the same time it is not. I’ll defintely try to take a high quality photo when I’m actually going to dance LOL. I think this leotard is absolutely gorgeous and I know I will be wearing it often!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!<3

Good luck in school everyone!

Milani Glitzy Eyez Glitter Retractable Eyeliner Review

Today I’ll be reviewing the Milani Glitzy Eyez Glitter Retractable Eyeliner! These eyeliners are heaven – with a touch of glitter! I highly recommend these and I hope you enjoy the review!ImageImageImage

Packaging: The packaging is like every other eyeliner – sleek and small. The Glitzy Eyez eyeliners also come with a built-in sharpener and soft smudger. I personally don’t ever see myself using the sharpener, but I think the smudger is great!

Price: $5.79, from CVS. I’m sure you can find lower prices at other stores too! But, at my Target, these eyeliners were on clearance for only about $3! It’s even on Target’s website! I was so surprised and happy to be getting these eyeliners at a super cheap price, consdering the quality of the liners are close to Urban Decay!

Product: Here comes the rave! These eyeliners are so fabulous and amazing. The pigmentation is fantastic and the quality is close to Urban Decay. When I first swatched these, my heart almost stopped because it is so smooth and creamy and pigmented! I have three of these eyeliners: Purple Quartz (which looks black in the second photo LOL), Blue Topaz, and Terra Brown. Purple Quartz has more glitter than pigmentation in my opinion, and it’s the least pigmented in the group. It is still a beautiful color and I love it because I can use it for a nice pop of color! Blue Topaz and Terra Brown are equally pigmented and just gorgeous. There isn’t too much glitter and Terra Brown is probably my favorite. These eyeliner glide on smoothly and are retractable too which I really enjoy. Retractable eyeliners are so much easier to use in my opinion because sometimes sharpeners can cause the pencil to break or worse. Also, these are cruelty-free! YAY!

Have you tried these eyeliners before and do you think you’ll be purchasing any? If you are looking for an eyeliner, I promise you these will not disappoint! I guarantee that you will love these.

Thanks for reading! See you again soon!

Vintage/Color Block Nail Art

Yesterday  I tried some interesting nail art inspired by a pin on Pinterest. I’m not quite sure what it is – vintage? Color block? The pin specified that it was vintage, so let’s just call it vintage for now! It look relatively easy, but it’s harder than it looks! My nail art is definitely far from perfect, but it was a fun design to try!Image

You Will Need:

  • white polish
  • pink polish
  • tape
  • top coat

I first painted my nails with two coats of the white polish. After letting the polish completely dry, I cut some tape and applied it on the top half of the nail, and other strip on the lower half of the nail. Make sure the tape is firmly pressed down so the pink polish won’t accidently run into the white. After you’ve taped your nails, take your pink polish and paint the remaining space of your nail where there isn’t tape. Try not to paint the tape, only the middle section of your nail. (Does this make sense? Lol. If you have any questions, just leave a comment and I will try to answer it.) Slowly remove the tape immediatly after painting the pink shade. Feel free to touch up your nails too. After the polish has dried, finish it up with a top coat!

I like wearing this on my nails!  I do need to get better at it though! Make sure to take your time and wait until the white nail polish is completely dry before applying the tape. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below! If you want me to do any specific nail art, let me know and I will get to it!

Do you think you will be trying these vintage/color block nails?

Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup Look

Yet again, I have another celebrity inspired makeup look! This week, I chose Kylie Jenner because on her Instagram she always posts beautiful pictures of her makeup. It is a  cat eye with a bold red lip, a simple yet elegant look. Let’s get started!

How to achieve this look:

1. Start off by taking your favorite black liquid eyeliner and creating a thick cat-eye. Don’t go into the inner corners, though! Kylie stops just a little bit before you would start lining the inner corners.

2. After you are finished, take a matte black shadow and an angled eye brush and go over the liquid liner to prevent smudging.

3. With that same brush, take a dark, silver color and line your lashline very closely.

4. Get your favorite crease brush and take a matte, light brown shadow and place that into your crease.

5. Take a matte highlighter (it should be relatively close to your skin tone) and apply it to your browbone.

6. Take a light, shimmery champagne color and highlight your inner corners.

7. Find a mascara that makes your lashes pop!

8. Once you are finished with the eyes, start creating a flawless face with your favorite foundation, concealer, or BB cream.

9. Take a powder to make sure no shine breaks through!

10. Apply a bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks to make your face a bit more defined.

11. Optional: line your lips with a red lipliner and fill them in.

12. Apply a red lipstick to your lips and correct any mistakes with concealer.

13. You are finished!

Garnier Ultimate Cleanser Review

The Garnier 3-Way Clean Ultimate Cleanser is currently my favorite face wash for so many reasons! I first found out about this product at Ralphs (crazy, right?). It was on clearence for about $3 and I decided to give it a try! I love it! It gives this soothing feeling on your face and takes your makeup right off. Plus, at my Ralphs, it’s still on clearance! Definitely go and see if they have it at your location because it is more than half off. Before I start raving again, let’s start with the review!Image

Packaging: The packaging of this facial wash is like most normal cleansers. It is kind of big, not exactly travel friendly, but you can quickly stuff it in your suitcase if you need to.

Price: $6.29, from Target. But, if you find this on clearance at your local Ralphs, you can snatch it up for only $2.97!

Product: Garnier claims that this a cleanser that you can use in three different ways – as a daily cleanser, an exfoliating scrub, and a 3 minute purifying mask. I find that it actually can be used three ways, but I prefer using it as a daily cleanser. I use this to take off my makeup at the end of the day. It is a white paste with little blue beads that feels great on the face. Don’t use a lot of product though – a little goes a long way! After I wash the product off, it gives a nice, soothing feeling on my face that I love! This is the only cleanser that doesn’t totally irritate my face either! Even if you have sensitive skin, don’t be afraid to try this one out! I feel that any skin type can use this cleanser. Another thing I like about this product is that it has this weird, fresh smell to it haha! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I like it!

To sum up, I would definitely recommend this product! I’m so glad I tried it! If you’ve ever tried this cleanser, leave me a comment below telling me what you think about it!

Thank you for reading and feel free to leave requests for reviews! Bye!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush Review

The Maybelline Bouncy Blushes in my opinion are quite a controversial product! Are they really bouncy? Does it work? In my review, I will share my opinion about these blushes and everything I like and dislike about them! I have the shade 15, in Rose Petal. Let’s get started!ImageImageImage

Packaging: The packaging of the bouncy blush is very light and great for throwing in your makeup bag when you’re in a rush! I have had no problems with the packaging so fa.

Price: $6.99, from Target. This is a pretty reasonable price for a blush, but I’ve seen cheaper.

Product: Maybelline claims that this is a “bouncy” blush, and for the most part, it actually is – well, the first time you touch it. After you start using this blush, it really isn’t that bouncy anymore, and it feels more like a cream blush. Rose Petal isn’t very pigmented. It is a sheer, natural shade. When I apply on my cheeks, it sometimes causes my face to get irritated and it becomes red (told you my face is extremely sensitive!). Because of that, I prefer powder blushes over cream blushes. Here are some swatches below!ImageImageTo sum up, I probably would not repurchase one of these again. It is too diffficult for me to apply and it doesn’t work for me. I wish Maybelline would make another bouncy blush but create a better formula!

Thank you for reading and leave requests below! Have a great day!
