Influenster Jolly Voxbox 2013 Review

Hey beauty bloggers! Wow, I haven’t blogged in FOREVER. I am so sorry – I just haven’t found the time and I was running out of ideas to blog about. But, here I am with an exciting blog post! Today I received a the Jolly Voxbox from Influenster. I am so excited I qualified and I hope I qualify for more upcoming boxes!:)

If you don’t know what Influenster is, check out their website for all the information here.

Now, let’s get started with the review!

The first item I received in my box was the NYC New York Color HD Color Eyeshadow Trio in the color Long Beach Sands. It says the eyeshadow delivers high intensity color with a silky soft texture and the lightweight formula blends effortlessly for the ultimate smokey eye look. Is it just me or does it kind of remind me of the Wet N Wild eyeshadow trio in Walking On Eggshells? Huh.

Well, the eyeshadows are definately very silky and smooth! While swatching them, they seemed to blend easily too. These eyshadows are not very pigmented, though. I would recommend using a good primer too so the eyeshadow doesn’t fade during the day. I’m glad Influenster gave us some neutral colors because if they gave me a trio with green or purple I wouldn’t be using them as often! The first color in the trio which is a highlighter shade is a very pretty champenge color. I see myself using this shadow often in the future. It’s perfect if you want a little shimmer in your inner corners! The second color is the darkest shade in the trio and the most pigmented. I like this shadow and I’m excited to experiment with it. Once again, I wish it more pigmented and a little less sheer. I see myself using it as a natural crease color to give a little bit more definiton to my eyes. Or, if I’m going for a smokey look, I’ll definately use this! The last shadow is probably my least favorite and the least pigmented. I don’t really know what I would use it for – an eyeshadow base or a crease color? It seems too light to be a crease color and I wouldn’t use it for my lid either. But, I’m excited to try out a makeup look with this trio and maybeI’ll use it for Christmas Eve tomorrow. It’s great if you want a nice natural look and you can even darken up some of the colors by building it up and using a good primer.

Next I got the new Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer. The description says it is an intense rich colour of a lipstick combined with an invincibly smooth lacquer shine. I received the shade Stargazer. At first, it appeared very metallic on my lips but after I blended it out it was a pretty shimmery champange color! I feel like this would go well with the NYC trio too! This is the perfect gloss if you have a smokey eye and want to finish your look with a natural shimmery gloss. I’m really pleased with this product and I’m going to use it quite often!

Next I received the Skinny Cow Candy in the flavor peanut butter creme. You get six packets of yummy chocolate, and each packet includes three little chocolates. These are perfect if you’re craving something sweet or you want a little snack. I also really like these because they are only 130 calories! Wow!

Now about the taste… I really liked them! I shared some with my family to get their opinions, too. My 9-year-old brother said it was “okay”, rating it a 5 out of 10 stars. Maybe he doesn’t like peanut butter? The rest of my family agreed it was an 8 out of 10 stars. I liked the peanut butter flavor, but I’m wondering if they have carmel ones too! But, if you don’t like chocolate or you’re allergic peanut butter, these probably aren’t your favorite in the box.

I would recommend these because they are super yummy!

The next item in my box was the Puffs Ultra Strong & Soft To Go Tissue Pack. These are definately softer than normal tissues and are perfect for on the go! One thing I don’t like about these is the pack only comes with 10 tissues. I feel like I would use up those 10 tissues very quickly and I wish there was more in a pack. But, these are perfect right now because it seems like everyone is getting sick or catching a cold.

The next item surprised me a little! The first thought I had was: Since when is ducktape a beauty product?

Well, I know someday it will come in handy and I’ll be thankful I have it! The design is cute – blue and purple cheetah/leopard print. I will definately use it when I’m hanging up a poster of a celebrity or something haha. It’s a mini roll of duct tape and the descriptive claims it tears easily by hand without curling and it conforms to uneven surfaces.

In the end, I am really pleased with the Jolly Voxbox! There are some really good products that I’m excited to try out. If you want to sign up for Influenster, leave a comment below with your email because I still have a few invites left!:)

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!

Milani Glitzy Eyez Glitter Retractable Eyeliner Review

Today I’ll be reviewing the Milani Glitzy Eyez Glitter Retractable Eyeliner! These eyeliners are heaven – with a touch of glitter! I highly recommend these and I hope you enjoy the review!ImageImageImage

Packaging: The packaging is like every other eyeliner – sleek and small. The Glitzy Eyez eyeliners also come with a built-in sharpener and soft smudger. I personally don’t ever see myself using the sharpener, but I think the smudger is great!

Price: $5.79, from CVS. I’m sure you can find lower prices at other stores too! But, at my Target, these eyeliners were on clearance for only about $3! It’s even on Target’s website! I was so surprised and happy to be getting these eyeliners at a super cheap price, consdering the quality of the liners are close to Urban Decay!

Product: Here comes the rave! These eyeliners are so fabulous and amazing. The pigmentation is fantastic and the quality is close to Urban Decay. When I first swatched these, my heart almost stopped because it is so smooth and creamy and pigmented! I have three of these eyeliners: Purple Quartz (which looks black in the second photo LOL), Blue Topaz, and Terra Brown. Purple Quartz has more glitter than pigmentation in my opinion, and it’s the least pigmented in the group. It is still a beautiful color and I love it because I can use it for a nice pop of color! Blue Topaz and Terra Brown are equally pigmented and just gorgeous. There isn’t too much glitter and Terra Brown is probably my favorite. These eyeliner glide on smoothly and are retractable too which I really enjoy. Retractable eyeliners are so much easier to use in my opinion because sometimes sharpeners can cause the pencil to break or worse. Also, these are cruelty-free! YAY!

Have you tried these eyeliners before and do you think you’ll be purchasing any? If you are looking for an eyeliner, I promise you these will not disappoint! I guarantee that you will love these.

Thanks for reading! See you again soon!

Garnier Ultimate Cleanser Review

The Garnier 3-Way Clean Ultimate Cleanser is currently my favorite face wash for so many reasons! I first found out about this product at Ralphs (crazy, right?). It was on clearence for about $3 and I decided to give it a try! I love it! It gives this soothing feeling on your face and takes your makeup right off. Plus, at my Ralphs, it’s still on clearance! Definitely go and see if they have it at your location because it is more than half off. Before I start raving again, let’s start with the review!Image

ImageImage

Packaging: The packaging of this facial wash is like most normal cleansers. It is kind of big, not exactly travel friendly, but you can quickly stuff it in your suitcase if you need to.

Price: $6.29, from Target. But, if you find this on clearance at your local Ralphs, you can snatch it up for only $2.97!

Product: Garnier claims that this a cleanser that you can use in three different ways – as a daily cleanser, an exfoliating scrub, and a 3 minute purifying mask. I find that it actually can be used three ways, but I prefer using it as a daily cleanser. I use this to take off my makeup at the end of the day. It is a white paste with little blue beads that feels great on the face. Don’t use a lot of product though – a little goes a long way! After I wash the product off, it gives a nice, soothing feeling on my face that I love! This is the only cleanser that doesn’t totally irritate my face either! Even if you have sensitive skin, don’t be afraid to try this one out! I feel that any skin type can use this cleanser. Another thing I like about this product is that it has this weird, fresh smell to it haha! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I like it!

To sum up, I would definitely recommend this product! I’m so glad I tried it! If you’ve ever tried this cleanser, leave me a comment below telling me what you think about it!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush Review

The Maybelline Bouncy Blushes in my opinion are quite a controversial product! Are they really bouncy? Does it work? In my review, I will share my opinion about these blushes and everything I like and dislike about them! I have the shade 15, in Rose Petal. Let’s get started!ImageImageImage

Packaging: The packaging of the bouncy blush is very light and great for throwing in your makeup bag when you’re in a rush! I have had no problems with the packaging so fa.

Price: $6.99, from Target. This is a pretty reasonable price for a blush, but I’ve seen cheaper.

Product: Maybelline claims that this is a “bouncy” blush, and for the most part, it actually is – well, the first time you touch it. After you start using this blush, it really isn’t that bouncy anymore, and it feels more like a cream blush. Rose Petal isn’t very pigmented. It is a sheer, natural shade. When I apply on my cheeks, it sometimes causes my face to get irritated and it becomes red (told you my face is extremely sensitive!). Because of that, I prefer powder blushes over cream blushes. Here are some swatches below!ImageImageTo sum up, I probably would not repurchase one of these again. It is too diffficult for me to apply and it doesn’t work for me. I wish Maybelline would make another bouncy blush but create a better formula!

Thank you for reading and leave requests below! Have a great day!

Deborah Lipmann P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) Review

I got the chance to try one of the famous Deborah Lipmann nail polishes in P.Y.T. (Pretty Little Thing). This is a beautiful, pale pink shade that is perfect if you want a hint of color on your nails! Let’s start with the review!

Price:
$17, from Barney’s

This is a pricey nail polish! I am probably not going to have another one of these polishes in my collection. To be honest, good and cheap drugstore polishes work the same as pricey, high end ones in my opinion! It is fun to treat yourself once in awhile, but not every time you shop.

Packaging:

The packing is quite nice! It looks like it is made out of glass with a black plastic top. It actually feels light and I like the packaging very much!

Product:

The product itself is great! Pretty Young Thing is a sheer pink that is perfect for a natural look on your nails. I had to build up the color though because it was very sheer. I painted at least 3 good coats! Check out the swatches below.

Benefit Cabana Glama Makeup Kit Review

Hey guys! Today I have a very exciting review for you – the Benefit Cosmetics Cabana Glama Makeup Kit! This kit is perfect for summer and I’m so glad that I ordered this! I hope you enjoy this review!ImageImagePackaging: It is very well thought out and slick. The box is light and good for travel. I love the design on the front of the box – it’s so fun! After you have used up all of the products, you can lift the makeup compartment out and use it as a box for storage! Benefit’s packaging is beautiful and one of my favorite things about them.

Price: This is one of the cheapest makeup kits from Benefit. It is originally $36, but now every beauty retailer that has this kit sells it for $18, including the official Benefit website. This kit must’ve got out of style or something, because nothing else from Benefit has been marked down like this. It’s definitely a beauty steal!

Products: Of course, the products are what make the beauty kit a beauty kit! Cabana Glama includes the famous Hoola bronzer, mini Posietint, three eyeshadows, a makeup sponge, brush, and Some Kind A Gorgeous Medium Foundation. All of these products are fabulous so far and I’m really happy. The one thing I do not like about this is that the kit includes a foundation in a medium shade. I’m most certainly not a medium shade (I am very pale), so I don’t find myself using the foundation. I could perhaps try and use it as a bronzer, but I would definitely prefer if Benefit had some different skin tones to choose from for this kit. Also, the small “holder” thing that holds the mini Posietint is very small for the product. It barely fits, and I always have to lift up the container to push it out. I hope that made sense haha. Here are some swatches below with some reviews on the products.

ImageHere is a swatch of Posietint. It is a light pink color for the cheeks that blends easily. I am not really impressed with this product yet, but I’m still testing it out and seeing what it does. It is a more natural shade, but you can build up the color if you prefer bolder.ImageThe next swatch is Hoola! Sorry for the black mark (eyeliner swatch lol) and I have Posietint above. Hoola is in the middle as you can see. Hoola is the world-famous bronzer that everybody loves, including myself! I usually like bronzer with a hint of shimmer, so I didn’t want to buy the full size product of Hoola, but after trying it out I absolutely love it! If you can’t find the right bronzer, definitely invest in Hoola! You won’t be let down!ImageThese are the swatches for the eyeshadows. The kit includes three shadows: a shimmery pink shade, a neutral brown, and a dark chocolate brown shade. None of these are matte, they all have shimmer! You can create lots of different natural looks with these.ImageThe last swatch is the foundation. It is super creamy and blended easily on my hand. As I said before, I can’t use this because it is way to dark for me, but I will try and make it work! It is a great foundation overall –  it applies very smooth on my hand and I’m assuming it covers up well.

Those were all of the swatches, so to sum up the review, here are some pros and cons.

Pros:

– cute packaging

– good for travel

– contains good products

– reasonable price

Cons:

– foundation isn’t the right shade

– Posietint is hard to get out

As you can see, there aren’t many cons about this product! I definitely recommend this for summer and for people who love a good bronzed-look! It is also a perfect kit if you want to try out Hoola but you don’t want to buy it full sized. You’ll get Hoola, and some other great products as well! 🙂

I hoped you liked this review! It is a lot longer than my normal reviews, but I had a lot of fun writing this and I spent a lot of time on it! Hope you enjoyed!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigment Review

Hey guys! Today I have a really exciting post because I finally got my hands on one of the new Maybelline products – the Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments! I only got one shade, but I’m planning to get more so stay tuned! I bought mine for $5.99. Let’s start with the review! ImageImageThe packaging is just like the regular Color Tattoos – but in pigment form of course! My shade is number 55, in the color Barely Brazen. The packaging is small and easy to throw in your purse! I’m not usually a pigment fan because I purchased some ELF pigments and every time I used them, the pigment would go everywhere! It took so much time to carefully open and close them and to clean up after I had used it. But the Maybelline pigments are wonderful! They don’t spill or make a mess when I open them and they are very easy to use! I am really impressed. Here are some swatches below!ImageBarely Brazen is such a beautiful color! It reminds me of Stila’s eyeshadow Kitten. It is a light, shimmery almost champagne color that is great for highlighting. I would definitely use a primer though so the color would stay all day and become more vibrant. I’m so glad I picked this color! This is also great if you want a little bit of color on your lids! This is a very natural color that is perfect for a simple look.

I hope you liked this review and I’ll be reviewing more new Maybelline products soon! Thx!
