Garnier Ultimate Cleanser Review

The Garnier 3-Way Clean Ultimate Cleanser is currently my favorite face wash for so many reasons! I first found out about this product at Ralphs (crazy, right?). It was on clearence for about $3 and I decided to give it a try! I love it! It gives this soothing feeling on your face and takes your makeup right off. Plus, at my Ralphs, it’s still on clearance! Definitely go and see if they have it at your location because it is more than half off. Before I start raving again, let’s start with the review!Image

Packaging: The packaging of this facial wash is like most normal cleansers. It is kind of big, not exactly travel friendly, but you can quickly stuff it in your suitcase if you need to.

Price: $6.29, from Target. But, if you find this on clearance at your local Ralphs, you can snatch it up for only $2.97!

Product: Garnier claims that this a cleanser that you can use in three different ways – as a daily cleanser, an exfoliating scrub, and a 3 minute purifying mask. I find that it actually can be used three ways, but I prefer using it as a daily cleanser. I use this to take off my makeup at the end of the day. It is a white paste with little blue beads that feels great on the face. Don’t use a lot of product though – a little goes a long way! After I wash the product off, it gives a nice, soothing feeling on my face that I love! This is the only cleanser that doesn’t totally irritate my face either! Even if you have sensitive skin, don’t be afraid to try this one out! I feel that any skin type can use this cleanser. Another thing I like about this product is that it has this weird, fresh smell to it haha! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I like it!

To sum up, I would definitely recommend this product! I’m so glad I tried it! If you’ve ever tried this cleanser, leave me a comment below telling me what you think about it!

Thank you for reading and feel free to leave requests for reviews! Bye!

Kim Kardashian Inspired Makeup Look

For this week’s celebrity inspired makeup look, I have chosen to replicate a Kim Kardashian look from one of her perfume ads – True Reflection. It is a beautiful brown smokey-eye look that I absolutely love!

Original

ImageImageImageImage

How to achieve this look:

1. Apply a white base on your eyes to make sure your eyeshadow stays vibrant.

2. Apply a light shimmery color on your lids very lightly.

3. Take a warm brown color and apply that in your crease and blend the color a little bit up to your brow bone. With that same color, use it to line your lash line.

4. Now take a darker shadow and apply that just in your crease. Like before, take that color and line the lash line.

5. Take a slightly darker shadow than the eyeshadow you just used and lightly darken up the crease. Do this to your lash line as well.

6. Once you are happy with your crease look, take a white-ish highlighting shadow and highlight your brow bone and inner corners.

7. Take a pigmented brown eyeliner and line your waterline and be sure to tight line.

8. Now, use a black liquid liner and create a thick line with a small wing at the end.

9. Take a black eyeshadow (matte or shimmer) and place that over the liquid liner to ensure that it won’t smudge. With that same shadow, line your lash line as close as you can.

10. Put on loads of mascara and apply false lashes if you wish.

11. You want to create a flawless face, so apply a heavy concealer and a dewy foundation. If you don’t wear foundation, use concealer for problem areas and use a BB Cream instead.

12. Take a powder and apply that to all of your face to set your face products.

13. Use a shimmery bronzer to contour.

14. Next, highlight your cheekbones!

15. Use a light pink lip liner and fill in your lips.

16. Take a baby pink lipstick and apply it onto your lips.

17. Find a light pink lip gloss and you are finished!

Traveling (part 12)

Today we left Boyne and drove to Sterling Heights. It was only three and a half hours and I played Angry Birds Star Wars for the whole ride (nerd!). It is unbelievably hot in Sterling Heights. It is currently 95 degrees, but when we arrived it was 100. Good thing my grandma’s house has great air conditioning! There is no wifi, and I can’t set up a hot spot, (I’m using the 3G on the iPad right now), so I won’t be online as much as I would be. You can’t do much in the heat, so it’s kind of like cabin fever without the snow. Sorry for such the boring update! Tomorrow I’m visiting the Apple Store to look at some phone contracts. I’m hoping to finally get an iPhone, but I’m not sure yet! Wish me luck!
I am going to the store to get some food and other things. I may be uploading a review later, but it depends! Make sure your air conditioning doesn’t break in this heat!

Traveling (part 11)

This post is going to be an update of yesterday and today! Yesterday we took a small road trip and drove across the famous Mackinaw Bridge. The view was awesome! The Mackinaw Bridge is one of the longest bridges – but when you drive across it, it sure doesn’t seem like it!

After driving over the bridge, we stopped by a beautiful sandy beach. I wish I could’ve stayed there longer!

Today was very, very hot (so was yesterday, and the day before!) and it still is even though it is late at night. It was at least 95 degrees today. There is extreme heat warnings all over the mid west and you can’t go outside without sweating (EW!) or putting on tons of sunscreen. We went to Deer Lake to cool down for most of the day. My mom and I went stand up paddling! It was tiring but fun (and of course she was about a hundred times better than me). I almost fell in a couple of times and in the extreme heat I got tired quickly. After we finished, I immediately went swimming in the lake because I was so hot! It was very refreshing even though the lake was warm. I swam farther out almost into the boating areas because the water slowly gets colder the farther you are from the lake. That was all we did today because you can’t really do anything else in this heat.

Traveling (part 10)

What better way to beat the heat than go to a water park! Hey guys! Today was a very hot day. We first spent an hour or two at the pool, but then decided to check out the indoor water park connected to the resort. Apparently, Avalanche Bay is one of the best indoor water parks! And after hours of fun, I definitely agree! There is a lazy river, tons of water slides, a mat slide, and more! Check out the photos below!:)

Here is a photo of my brother and I under the big bucket that spills out tons of water every ten minutes. I think Soak City has tons of these. The water is warm, not freezing cold, unlike other water parks I’ve been to.

20130714-213152.jpg
Here is a photo of the play area of the park. Uh play area? I have no idea what to call this. It has stairs and dripping water everywhere. It also leads to two water slides that are for smaller kids. I went on them anyway – I mean, what the heck? I’m probably never going to come here again.

One of the entrances that you come out of from the water slides.

Another picture of the water park so you get a good idea of how it looks!:)

20130714-213650.jpg
This is the only thing I didn’t go on. You jump on it with a boogie board, and then you try and stay on without falling. It’s harder than it looks! Apparently you get sprayed a lot in your eyes and I didn’t want to risk a whole gallon of water going up my nose.

20130714-213829.jpg
Coming down one of the water slides. This was the first one I went on! By the way, it was the little kid one lol. Still fun. I love the long ones that are all dark and you can’t see anything!! Once I had a dream that I got stuck in one. Huh.

20130714-214018.jpg
Tumblr girl! Not.

20130714-214042.jpg
Of course, I went on these floating fake ice-berg things.

20130714-214150.jpg
Alright. This is the “mat slide” I was talking about. What else would you call it? I don’t think it has a specific name. This was super fun even though you had to walk three long flights of stairs to get up. I probably walked over two hundred flights of stairs total today. Wow, what a work out! I’m really tired.

After the water park, we went to a restaurant and ate some dinner. I got a nice plate of spaghetti and it was delicious!

Traveling (part 9)

Today we drove to Boyne! It was a short car ride, only about an hour, and we arrived at this awesome ski-resort. Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we decided to drive down and check out the lake which was also part of the resort. It was great! They had complimentary kayaks, tubes, and the water was super warm! Tomorrow we are hopefully going to reserve a spot to go stand-up paddling. Once again, I tried out their kayaks and kayaked around the lake. We ate dinner at their restaurant (right on the lake too!) and the food was superb. They had the best fries!;)
Once we checked in, we discovered that they had an outdoor AND indoor pool – connected! Let me try and explain (it’s a bit confusing.) Basically, there is an indoor pool and that pool also has a clear curtain-type thing that you can swim under to be in the same pool but outside. Did that make sense? I know a picture would help, but there’s always sooo many people and that’s super awkward. After we dried off, we went to toast some marshmallows and s’mores. There’s so much to do! Zip lining, fitness room, seg-ways, fishing, tubing, etc.! After our treat, we decided to go on the ski lift! We got our tickets and climbed on. The view was amazing! I was a bit nervous though – it was the first time I had ever been on a ski lift! P.S. I’ve never been in the snow either! I guess that’s what I get for being a California-girl!;)
Here is a few photos of the ski lift below 🙂

Traveling (part 8)

Hey guys! This is going to be a mixed update of yesterday and today.
Yesterday I visited the Sleeping Bear Dunes! This is a popular tourist attraction that has been mentioned by Good Morning America, Sunset Magazine, and more! It was a long, hot hike up the dunes but it was worth it in the end. It has quite the amazing view too! After coming back down, we took a scenic drive and found a picnic table to eat lunch. We continued our drive, stopping at outlooks and admiring the green trees.

Today I had a very active and fun day! Right after breakfast, we drove down to River Side Canoe Trips to go kayaking! It was so beautiful. The ride was about two hours and boy – it was a work out! The lake was beautiful and it was super fun. We might do another kayaking trip when we travel to Boyne tomorrow! There was also a huge snapper turtle that was harassing some of the tubers! After arriving at the end of the lake, we ate lunch at a park to satisfy our stomachs. We drove home and then I decided to take a swim in the hotel pool. I decided to check out Grand Traverse Bay which is right next to our hotel and the water was super warm! I’ve never seen anything like it! It was shallow and warm and so much fun.
I definitely would want to kayak again very soon! Here are some photos below!
